بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
I embraced Islam nine years ago. But today, I finally decided to document my journey.
Why now?
Because faith is a journey, not a single moment. Over the years, I have grown, struggled, questioned, and found answers—sometimes in the most unexpected places. Yet, I never wrote them down. I never reflected in a way that could benefit others walking a similar path.
This blog, Muslim Hakawati, is my space to share my experiences as a Muslim revert. The moments of doubt. The warmth of community. The solitude of being different. The joy of finding Allah’s guidance in the everyday.
I hope my words resonate with others—whether you’re a revert, born Muslim, or just someone seeking truth.
Before I end this, let me share you this beautiful dua:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ
Allahumma inni astakheeruka bi 'ilmika, wa astaqdiruka bi qudratika, wa as'aluka min fadlika al-‘azheem.
"O Allah, I seek Your guidance through Your knowledge, and I seek strength through Your power, and I ask You from Your immense bounty."
May this be a reminder to myself first and a source of connection for those who read it.
اللهم ثبتني على دينك (O Allah, keep me steadfast in Your religion).
Until next time,
Syed
